CHRISTIAN DEATH: 'Only Theatre Of Pain' Anniversary Concert Scheduled
April 5, 2007Surviving members from CHRISTIAN DEATH's landmark "Only Theatre of Pain" album have reunited as CHRISTIAN DEATH 1334 and will be performing the album in its entirety at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, California on Friday, April 13, 2007. The new line-up includes "Only Theatre of Pain" participants guitarist Rikk Agnew (ADOLESCENTS, D.I.),bassist James McGearty and providing the vocals will be the late singer Rozz Williams' ex-wife and musical partner Eva O. (SUPERHEROINES, SHADOW PROJECT). On drums will be Christian Omar Madrigal Izzo (CHOKEBORE, DAUCUS KAROTA) who played on the CHRISTIAN DEATH album "Path of Sorrows", accompanied by new members Jaime Pina (45 GRAVE, PUNK ROCK VATOS) on guitar and Le' rue Delashay on keyboards.
According to a press release, the band added the the "1334" to the name in order to make the distinction that this band is carrying on the legacy created by the original band, and 1334 was Rozz Williams' signature number. The performance is to celebrate the 25th anniversary of "Only Theatre of Pain" and to introduce the public to the new lineup. They are already working on new songs and will begin recording a new album later in the year. The group's label, Frontier, will press a special limited-edition clear vinyl version of the album that will only be avaiable at the concert. The band will be doing a signing after the performance. There will also be a special digipak CD edition available from Seventeen Records in Europe.
